Argentina face a gruelling trip to Ecuador as they bid to save their World Cup qualification campaign from the brink of disaster.
Despite boasting some of the world’s best attacking talent, a lack of goals has seen Argentina struggle in the South American group and they currently lie in sixth place with only the top four gaining automatic plane tickets to Russia next year.
Their final qualifier will be played in the brutal altitude of Quito, with only a win an option as anything less would leave them looking at the real possibility of not even making the play-off and missing out altogether.
Ecuador are out of the running for a place in next year’s tournament, but shocked La Albiceleste with a 2-0 win in the opening round of qualifying fixtures and will fancy teir chances of piling more heartache on the two-time world champions.

It’s a late start in Quito, with the match kicking off at 12.30am on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.

Boss Jorge Sampaoli will have to try and address his side’s lack of goals without Sergio Aguero, with the Manchester City hotshot recovering from broken ribs sustained in a car accident in Amsterdam two weeks ago.
